Shepherds in the Snow

Description

^{It was the first snow fall of the season.

"There ya go Glory Girl." Rod Foley patted the panda shepherd and she wagged her tail, the shepherd never seemed to tire. He took her to the large paddock and let her go.
"Dad! Don't!" James Foley ran out after Rod released her. The shepherd took off running. Rod looked at his son questioningly.
"I put Sky in there with her Owl toy."
"What do you mean?" The owner, Pride, walked out from around the corner, "I put the new arrival, the Canadian Shepherd, Spirit in there."
"Oh shoot... that was today." James groaned.

Out in the field Sky ran as fast as she could - her Owl clenched firmly in her jaws. Glory Girl was hot on her tail - her pale eyes fixed on the Owl. Spirit, although she had much thicker legs and larger paws kept up easily.
Every time Glory Girl got almost close enough to snatch the Owl, Spirit playfully lunged at her and took her attention away from Sky.

Rod and Pride entered the paddock - to be greeted by the sight of Sky running flat out towards them and Spirit distracting Glory Girl. They threw open the gate and as soon as Sky was through shut the gate behind her.

The female German Shepherd dropped her toy and panted heavily. She sat and waited as she looked into the paddock - Spirit still entertaining Glory Girl. As Rod exited the paddock, Sky brought her Owl to Pride as if to say; 'Hold this.' before she went over to the gate and barked at Rodney.

We let her back in and the three eagerly started to play in the snow. Spirit asserted her calm but certain authority, and ensured that the wired Glory Girl and Sky would become close buddies.

The three Shepherds - I was going to try to add the Pits but ran out of room so they'll get their own special picture. It's no where near snowing here but I love drawing snow xD

I had a lot of fun exploring the girls' personalities with this story and picture, Sky's determination and ownership of that Owl, Glory Girl's excitable nature and Spirit's calm but very Alpha personality.
